Greeting from New Consul-General

I am Hiroto Hirakoba, the new Consul-General of Japan in Denver. I arrived on March 21st and am very pleased to have the opportunity to work in such a beautiful and lively area like the Rocky Mountain region.

Previously, I have worked in Asia, Africa, and Oceania. My recent stations were at the Consulate-General of Japan in Shanghai and the Consulate-General of Japan in Qingdao. After that I have also worked at Tohoku University and the Foreign Service Training Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The jurisdiction of the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver consists of four states - Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming. We will continue to do our very best to further strengthen relations between Japan and the four states.
