Consul General and Mrs. Ono attended a Farewell Reception hosted in their honor by the Japan America Society of Colorado (JASC), the Japanese American Association of Colorado (JAAC), and the Japanese Firms Association (JFA) at the Denver Botanic Gardens on Thursday, December 12, 2015. Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock and representatives from each sponsoring organization remarked on the success of Consul General Ono’s  almost three and a half- year tenure and expressed their regret at his permanent departure. In return, Consul General Ono spoke of his sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for all of the support and cooperation he received during his time as Consul General of Japan in Denver. At the end, Mayor Hancock presented Consul General Ono with a Broncos jersey bearing the Consul General’s name.

Over 100 guests ranging from government officials to residing Japanese nationals attended the reception, and all expressed their regret and reluctance towards the Consul General and Mrs. Ono’s departure.
