Former president of the Japan America Society of Colorado (JASC) Richard Clark received a Japan Imperial Decoration, the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. On Tuesday, January 17th, an award ceremony was held in Clark’s honor at the official residence of the Consul General. About 40 people were in attendance, including Clark’s family and relatives, friends, financial associates, and executive members of the JASC.
Consul General Ito offered his congratulations and gave a summary of Clark’s accomplishments before presenting him with his decorative medallion and certificate of Imperial decoration. Clark then expressed his gratitude that he was able to contribute to the advancement of Japan-Colorado relations with the help and support of his associates.
Clark’s friend of many years and law associate Jim Lyon, on behalf of all in attendance, offered congratulatory remarks and ended the ceremony by proposing a toast in Clark’s honor.
