Post Digital, Possibilities of Computer Graphics as Art

The University of Colorado Denver College of Arts & Media and the Consulate of Japan in Denver will host Taketo Kobayashi for a discussion titled “Post Digital, Possibilities of Computer Graphics as Art”.

Taketo Kobayashi will speak about his work, including his current show at Denver International Airport and how this current work draws on his past as a lead 3D modeler at one of Japan's most revered anime production houses, Studio Gonzo. “I am using modern technology, but my soul belongs to animism, making a circle connecting the ancient, modern and future”, Kobayashi said. A fine artist with an anime past who employs the themes of anime and fantasy in designing his current 3D works that includes 30-printed covers for prosthetic limbs.
