2017 Japan Cup hosted by Japan America Society of Colorado (April 22, 2017)

On Saturday, April 22nd, the 2017 Japan Cup - a Japan Foundation Grant event - hosted by the Japan America Society of Colorado (JASC) was held at the University of Denver. For award ceremony, Consul-General Hirakoba presented trophies to the winning teams from each level. He commended each team for their hard work in studying for the competition and also expressed his appreciation toward the parties involved in making the event possible. In addition, Deputy Consul-General Kondo acted as a judge during the final rounds.
The Japan Cup is a competition where high school and college students in teams of 3 answer different categories of questions about Japanese language and culture. This year, there were 130 students from 13 schools that participated. The 12 teams that won the preliminary rounds in the morning competed against each other in the afternoon final rounds. All teams passionately displayed their knowledge making it an intense and close competition.
