On October 17, 2017, Consul General Hirakoba paid a courtesy visit to US Representative Ed Perlmutter. In response to US Representative Perlmutter's remarks regarding the relationship between the United States and Japan, the Consul General expressed his desire to make his best efforts to strengthen relations between Japan and Colorado.
