Fine for Illegal Import and Export of Livestock Products to Triple

     The revised Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control took effect as of July 1, 2020. Following the amendment, the maximum fine for illegal import and export of livestock and meat products will be raised from 1 million yen to 3 million yen (50 million yen for corporations). Duty-free souvenirs purchased by individuals and import/export by mail are also subject to this penalty. For more details, please click here.
