On Saturday, May 21, 2022, Consul-General MIKAMI Yoichi presented the Foreign Minister’s Commendation (FMC) for FY2019 to Mr. John Hopper, President of the Amache Preservation Society (APS), former Principal of Granada High School, on the occasion of the 2022 Amache Pilgrimage Memorial Ceremony.


The award ceremony was held with many APS members and Granada High school members in observance, recognizing the strong contribution of the Amache Preservation Society toward promoting mutual understanding between Japan and United States. Consul-General MIKAMI delivered congratulatory remarks prior to presenting the award, and President Hopper offered words of gratitude to all.


The Foreign Minster’s Commendation is awarded to recognize the achievements of individuals and groups that have made significant contributions toward promoting friendly relations between Japan and other countries.
