On Monday, May 30, Consul-General MIKAMI Yoichi attended the 76th Annual Community Memorial Day Service for Japanese-American Veterans at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.


The memorial service is held every year in May on Memorial Day in honor of Japanese-American Veterans who were members of the units organized during the World War II. Approximately 300 people including U. S. Senator Michael Bennet, Mr. John Hopper, President of the Amache Preservation Society (APS), Mr. Calvin Hada, President of the Nikkeijin-Kai of Colorado, and the Japanese-American veterans, their families attended the ceremony.


Before the ceremony Consul-General MIKAMI had talks with Senator Bennet, Mr. John Hopper, and Mr. Calvin Hada among others.
