Japan – U.S, Defense Exchange Event (JUMP) (February 25th, 2023)
On February 25th, the Japan – U.S. Military Program (JUMP) was held at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, co-hosted by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA, the Japan America Society of Southern Colorado, and Embassy of Japan in the United States of America.
The event, titled “The Convergence of U.S. – Japan National Security Strategies” was attended by Dr. Akimoto, Chairman and President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Brigadier General Stilwell (USAF), Former Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Major General Sugai (JASDF), Japanese Defense Air, and Admiral Harris, Former U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (Former Commander, U.S. Pacific Command). The event had a lecture followed by a Q&A session.
Many military personnel who are on duty in Japan, Japanese officials in Colorado Springs, and cadets belonging to the Japan Club at the Air Force Academy participated, making it a meaningful event.
Consul-General Mikami and Consul Ishizaki were invited, and Consul-General Mikami delivered a welcome speech and participated in the Q&A session.
