Calligraphy Performance by Ms. Tomoko Kawao at the Denver Art Museum (March 21st, 2023)


On March 21st, Ms. Tomoko Kawao gave a calligraphy performance at the Denver Art Museum.
Dr. Einor Cervone moderated the event, and Ms. Tomoko Kawao’s performance showcased her writing the word “Elegance”. After the performance, there was a presentation on calligraphy by Ms. Kawao followed by a Q&A session.
Many people visited the Denver Art Museum and enjoyed Ms. Kawao’s performance as well as her presentation. The Q&A session was very active with many questions being asked. Consul General Mikami and Consul Ishizaki were invited to the event and enjoyed her performance.
The Denver Art Museum has an exhibit titled “Her Brush: Japanese Women Artists from the Fong-Johnstone Collection”, featuring works by Japanese women artists from the 1600s to the 1900s.
