“2023 Children's Day Festival” in Colorado Springs (May 6, 2023)

On May 6, the Japan-America Society of Southern Colorado hosted “the 2023 Children's Day Festival” at Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center on the Colorado College Campus in Colorado Springs.

The Japan-America Society of Southern Colorado, in cooperation with sponsors and volunteers, set up booths and exhibits such as Mother's Day card making, calligraphy, manga/anime, origami, carp streamers, Ninja Academy, etc. Many visitors experienced traditional Japanese culture. There were also demonstrations of dance, martial arts, and a fashion show. The Consulate General of Japan was invited to the event where Consul- General Mikami attended and gave a speech.

Many people, especially children, visited the venue and experienced various cultural experiences. It was a wonderful Festival.
