Asian Education Advisory Council Awards Ceremony of Denver Public Schools (May 7, 2023)

On May 7, the Denver Public Schools Asian Education Advisory Council hosted the 37th Annual AEAC Awards Ceremony at a hotel in Denver.
The Denver Public Schools Asian Education Advisory Council annually recognizes outstanding Asian American students and educators from kindergarten through high school, and many of the recipients and their families attended the ceremony. In recent years, the ceremony has been canceled or held on a smaller scale due to the outbreak of COVID-19, but this year, thanks to the efforts of all involved, the ceremony was once again held in a grand, in-person style.
The ceremony was very lively, with greetings from Chairperson Rahn and Dr. Marrero, Denver Public Schools Superintendent, a keynote speech from Mr. Vu, CEO and ED of Society of Asian Scientist and Engineers and performances of traditional Asian music and other entertainment. The Consulate-General of Japan was invited to the ceremony. Consul-General Mikami and Consul Furutani attended. CG Mikami gave a speech to greet and honor the award winners.
