Matsumoto City Mayor Gaun and other Matsumoto city people visit Salt Lake City (65th anniversary of Sister City) (July 23 and 24, 2023)

On July 23rd and 24th, Mayor Gaun of Matsumoto City in Nagano Prefecture and other people from the city visited Salt Lake City, Utah for the 65th Anniversary of their Sister City relationship.

Mayor Gaun and his delegation attended many events during their visit, including: a welcome party hosted by Salt Lake City Mayor Mendenhall and city councilors, a climate change panel, Days of ‘47 Parade, a commemorative tree planting ceremony, and an event hosted by the Japanese American Citizens League.

The friendship between Matsumoto City and Salt Lake City deepened. The delegation appreciated the warm welcome by Mayor Mendenhall and the people of Salt Lake City.

The Consulate-General of Japan was also invited, and Consul-General Mikami attended some of the programs and events.
