Mile High JACL “Day of Remembrance 2024” (February 18th, 2024)




On February 18th, the Mile High JACL (Japanese American Citizens League) hosted the “Day of Remembrance 2024” at the History Colorado Center in Denver.
The “Day of Remembrance” is held annually to remember Executive Order 9066 during World War ll which forced many people to be evicted and relocated to internment camps.
“Day of Remembrance 2024” began with a greeting and introduction by Mr. Dylan Mori, President of Mile High JACL, and was followed by remarks from Gary Yamashita, a viewing of the documentary film "Before They Take Us Away," and a Q&A session with Antonia Grace Glenn, the filmmaker who produced the documentary.
The Consulate-General of Japan was also invited, and MIKAMI Yoichi, Consul-General of Japan in Denver, and FURUTANI Keiko, Consul attended.
