On May 4, the Japan-America Society of Southern Colorado (JASSC) hosted the “Children's Day Festival” at Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center on the Colorado College Campus in Colorado Springs.

The JASSC, in cooperation with sponsors and volunteers, set up booths and exhibits for subjects such as Mother's Day card-making, calligraphy, manga/anime, origami, carp streamers, Hina Ningyo/Yoroi & Kabuto, etc.

The event was moderated by Mr. Stout, President of the JASSC, and included demonstrations of taiko performance, Yosakoi dancing, and a kids’ fashion show.

Many people, especially children, visited the venue and experienced various cultural experiences. It was a wonderful festival. The Consulate General of Japan was invited to the event and Consul- General Mikami attended.
