Japan-Colorado Business Seminar on Tourism (June 28, 2024)






On June 28, the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver, in conjunction with the Sakura Foundation, hosted the Japan-Colorado Business Seminar at the residence of the Consul-General.
This seminar focused on the tourism sector between Japan and Colorado. 2024 marks the Cherry Blossom Festival’s 50th anniversary and has been designated as the “U.S. – Japan Tourism Year” by the Japan Tourism Agency and Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). Within this context, the seminar examined the travel business relationship between Japan and Colorado.
Ms. Tanaka Yoko, Director of JNTO Los Angeles, Mr. Tim Wolfe, Director of the Colorado Tourism Office, Mr. Brian Roth, Director of Regional Sales for United Airlines, and Stacey Shigaya, Executive Director of the Sakura Foundation, gave presentations, followed by a Q&A. Consul-General Mikami gave short opening remarks.
The seminar was followed by a networking event featuring sushi and sake. The seminar and networking event was attended by around forty people from the Japanese and Colorado governments and businesses.
