Event of the Japan US Military Program (JUMP) (November 2nd, 2024)


On November 2nd, the event of the Japan US Military Program (JUMP) was held at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, co-hosted by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA, the Japan America Society of Southern Colorado, and Embassy of Japan in the United States of America.
The event was well attended, with Lieutenant General Leonard Kosinski (USAF, Ret.), Former Deputy Commander, Fifth Air Force, Dr. Satohiro Akimoto, Chairman and President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, and Colonel Yuka Nakazato (JASDF) giving lectures which were followed by a Q&A session.
Many military personnel who were on duty in Japan, Japanese officials in Colorado Springs, and cadets belonging to the Japan Club at the Air Force Academy participated, making it a meaningful event.
The Consulate-General of Japan was invited, Consul-General Yoichi Mikami and Consul Keiko Furutani attended. Consul-General Mikami gave welcome remarks.
