On Saturday, January 25, the 48th Denver Kohaku Uta Gassen (Red vs. White Singing Contest) was held at the Denver Buddhist Temple, co-sponsored by the Tri-State Denver Buddhist Temple, Nikkeijinkai of Colorado (NKC), and Nisei Veterans Heritage Foundation, with Consul-General Okajima attending as a judge.


The contestants were divided into two groups, red and white, and competed in singing Japanese songs. After a series of high-level performances, the white group won the competition, and the Consul-General presented them with a trophy cup.
