Conferment Ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for Mr. Tom Migaki (May 8, 2025)

On May 8th, 2025, a ceremony for the 2024 Autumn Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals was held at the official residence of the Consul-General. At the ceremony, the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays was presented to Mr. Tom Migaki, former president of the Mile High Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) by Consul-General Okajima. Mr. Migaki has contributed to improving the social status of Japanese Americans and to promoting mutual understanding between Japan and the United States. After the presentation of the Decoration, Mr. Migaki delivered a speech and former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb led a congratulatory toast.

To honor his achievements, the ceremony was attended by Mr. Migaki's family, relatives, and others who have worked with him over the years in the promotion of Japan-U.S. relations.
