Meeting with Mr. Yoji Nagatomo, Team Director of the Japan Men’s National Rugby Team (September 11, 2025)

On September 11th, the Consulate-General was visited by Team Director Yoji Nagatomo of the Japan Men’s National Rugby Team (Brave Blossoms), which is currently in Denver for the Pacific Nations Cup! Consul-General Okajima congratulated the team on their splendid victory over the United States on September 6th in Sacramento and wished them the best of luck for their semifinal match against Tonga on the 14th.

Director Nagatomo shared fascinating insights from his rugby career, which has led him from Meiji University to Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath, the Yokohama Canon Eagles, and ultimately the Japanese National Team. Furthermore, we were deeply honored to receive a jersey signed by the entire team! Director Nagatomo, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit our office. We wholeheartedly support the Japanese National Team’s future efforts!
