2025/9/24

On September 21st, 2025, the “Japan Festival 2025,” organized by the Japan-America Society of Wyoming (JASWY), was held at Laramie High School in Laramie, Wyoming. The festival featured performances of traditional music with koto, shamisen, and shakuhachi, demonstrations of martial arts including aikido, judo, kendo, and karate, and a powerful taiko drum performance by Denver Taiko, as well as other cultural workshops, bringing joy to the local community.

Established in 2006, JASWY has been dedicated to promoting Japan-U.S. friendship and mutual understanding in Wyoming. In recognition of this long-lasting service to bilateral relations, Consul-General Okajima presented the Consul-General’s Commendation to JASWY.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of JASWY, Laramie High School’s Japanese Culture Club and Multicultural Club, and the current and former JOI coordinators for providing this excellent opportunity to introduce Japanese culture.
