Consul-General Okajima Hosts Boulder Mayor Aaron Brockett at Official Residence (October 13, 2025)

On October 13th, 2025, Consul-General Okajima welcomed Boulder Mayor Aaron Brockett, his family, and colleagues for dinner at his official residence. Mayor Brockett and his team recently returned from a visit to Japan, where they participated in many exchanges including attendance at the 2025 U.S.-Japan Sister Cities Summit held in Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture this past September.

Consul-General Okajima enjoyed his conversations with the mayor, where they discussed Mayor Brockett’s impressions of Japan and plans for further strengthening and highlighting the strong ties between Boulder and its sister city, Yamagata City (2024 marked the 30th anniversary of the two cities’ sister city relationship). Consul-General Okajima expressed his desire to continue cooperating to strengthen Japan-U.S. relations, which Mayor Brockett strongly affirmed.
