2025/10/29

On October 27th, 2025, the Japan-America Society of Southern Colorado (JASSC) held its annual Japanese Cultural Bazaar to great success in Colorado Springs, CO. This year’s event featured some new and exciting changes, such as the introduction of themed Bazaars—2025’s theme was Yōkai, exploring Japan’s supernatural folklore.

Many vendors and volunteers participated in the event, with attendees enjoying workshops on Japanese culture, various Japanese foods, and demonstrations by local cultural organizations of Japanese cultural traditions such as taiko and martial arts. True to its theme, this year’s Bazaar also featured a costumed “Yōkai Parade!”

Consul-General Okajima delivered remarks, congratulating JASSC on another successful year and thanking the vendors, performers, and volunteers for contributing to this opportunity to share Japanese culture. Consular staff also attended and held a booth to introduce the JET Program and tourism in Japan.
