New Year’s Reception (January 16, 2026)

On January 16, a New Year’s reception, co-hosted by the Japanese Business Association of the Rockies (JBAR) and the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver, was held at the Consul-General’s official residence.

Consul-General Okajima offered New Year’s greetings, expressed gratitude for the continued support, and emphasized his desire to continue collaborating in the coming year which mark a historic milestone for both the United States for its 250th anniversary, and the State of Colorado for its 150th year. Mr. Tomohisa Onuma, President of JBAR, gave a speech and the toast, after which the reception was held. Finally, Mr. Hiromitsu Mogi, Vice President of JBAR, gave closing remarks.

The reception was joined by Glenn Minoru Tagawa, President of the Nikkeijin Kai of Colorado, and John Hayato Branderhorst, Executive Vice President of Japan America Society of Colorado, and together celebrated the New Year.
