2026/3/4

On March 2nd, Consul-General Okajima hosted a meeting at his official residence with five alumni of the "KAKEHASHI Project," a people-to-people exchange program between Japan and the USA sponsored by the Government of Japan.

The participants actively exchanged their impressions of their visits to Japan, shared their activities since returning to the U.S., and offered ideas for further improvement of the program.

Many participants expressed that the "KAKEHASHI Project" served as a bridge for mutual understanding between Japan and the United States, and that the program deepened their connections with others who share similar roots, as well as their ties to Japan.

The Consulate will continue to value the bonds of trust and friendship fostered with the Asian American community through the KAKEHASHI Project, and will strive to further expand the circle of mutual understanding and exchange.
