Japan-Utah Business Roundtable (March 12, 2026)




On Thursday, March 12, the Consulate-General of Japan and World Trade Center (WTC) Utah co-hosted the Japan-Utah Business Roundtable in Salt Lake City, UT.
The event was attended by approximately 40 participants, with Mr. Franz Kolb, Director of International Trade and Diplomacy at the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, serving as moderator. From the Japanese side, Consul-General Okajima, JETRO Los Angeles Office Chief Executive Director Akira Kajita, Honorary Consul of Japan in Salt Lake City Jani Iwamoto were in attendance, as well as representatives from Japanese companies based in Utah and the Utah Japanese Language School. From the Utah side, WTC Utah COO David Carlebach, representatives from the Utah State and Salt Lake City governments, the Chamber of Commerce, and U.S. companies based in Utah engaged in introducing their respective initiatives and exchanges.
Through this event that hosted economic representatives from both Japan and Utah, along with the subsequent networking, we were able to deepen mutual understanding and advance relationship building. The Consulate-General of Japan in Denver will continue to work towards further strengthening economic relations between Japan and Utah.
