The 41st Space Symposium (April 13 – 16, 2026)
The 41st Space Symposium was held in Colorado Springs from April 13th to 16th, with over 12,000 participants from 60 countries, including representatives from government, military, research institutions, and private sector involved in the space industry. Many stakeholders from Japan—including the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and various Japanese companies—participated in the event. On the 14th, "Japan Hour" was held at the Japan Booth with a large crowd, where Consul-General Okajima joined JAXA President Yamakawa and other dignitaries in performing the traditional kagami-biraki (sake-barrel breaking ceremony).
On the evening of the 15th, the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver held a networking reception, co-hosted with the Japan-America Society of Southern Colorado and the Japan-America Society of Colorado. The reception brought together over 80 attendees including dignitaries such as JAXA President Yamakawa and Chief of Staff Morita of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, government officials, business leaders, and corporate representatives from both Japan and the United States, fostering lively exchanges.
We will continue to dedicate our efforts toward further strengthening space cooperation between Japan and the United States.
