Annual Japanese & Japanese American Community Picnic Held (August 2, 2026)

On August 2, an annual picnic organized by the Colorado Nikkeijin Kai was held at Berkeley Lake Park. Despite the summer heat, many members of the community gathered to enjoy this beloved tradition, including the ever-popular bon odori dance.
Consul-General Okajima from the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver joined the event and remarked, “It’s a great honor to be part of this picnic, where the Japanese American community passes down its history and culture through the generations. I’d love to hear your stories and memories!”
Special thanks go to President Glenn Tagawa, everyone at the Colorado Japanese Association, and all the volunteers for making this wonderful event possible again this year.
