Dinner Gathering with Kenny and Chizuko Endo (August 12, 2026)

On August 12, 2026, Consul-General Okajima welcomed Mr. Kenny Endo and Mrs. Chizuko Endo, who were visiting from Hawaii, along with local musicians to his official residence. During the evening gathering, participants exchanged views on the appeal of taiko drumming and how music serves as a bridge in Japan-U.S. relations.

Mr. Kenny Endo is a world-renowned taiko drummer and instructor who has performed and taught around the globe. The visit by Mr. and Mrs. Endo was a meaningful occasion for the local music community.

On August 16, the Boulder Taiko 20th Anniversary Event was held in Boulder, which staff members from the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver had the pleasure to attend. We were greatly honored that Mr. Endo performed on stage using the taiko drum owned by our consulate.

We wish Mr. and Mrs. Endo, as well as Boulder Taiko, continued success and growth in the future.
