“Spirit of Japan” Event Held in Sakura Square (September 18 – 20, 2026)

From September 18 – 20, the “Spirit of Japan” event was once again held in Sakura Square to great success, attracting many visitors who enjoyed Japanese food, sake, and more. Consul-General Hiroyuki Okajima visited on the first day and enjoyed the various booths, taiko performances, and the tuna-cutting demonstration.

“Spirit of Japan” provides a valuable opportunity to experience Japanese culture through food, regional introductions, and traditional arts. This year, Yamagata Prefecture, which is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its sister-state relationship with Colorado, also hosted a booth featuring local products and promoting tourism.

We look forward to seeing even more exciting programs next year, and hope that the event will continue to share the appeal of Japanese culture with many people.
