The Consul General expressed his intention to contribute to strengthening the relationship between Japan and Wyoming, while also continuing to deepen the good U.S.-Japan relations that have been developed over the past 70 years after World War II. In addition to strengthening economic relations, he said he would like to establish cooperation in the field of tourism as Wyoming is abundant in beautiful tourism resources beginning with Yellowstone National Park.
In response, Governor Mead said Japan is the 4th largest export country for the state of Wyoming, and while he wishes to further expand Wyoming's export to Japan in the future, he also wants to put more effort into sister city, academic and cultural exchanges with Japan.
