Consul General Ito pays Courtesy Visit to U.S. Senator Gardner (June 19, 2015)

Consul General Ito paid a courtesy visit to U.S. Senator Cory Gardner on Friday, June 19, 2015.
The Consul General expressed how Japan-America relations have further deepened with Japanese Prime Minister Abe’s recent visit to the United States, and that he desires to contribute to strengthening the relationship between Colorado and Japan, in the field of economy and so on. In response, Senator Gardner said he remembers when Their Majesties Emperor and Empress of Japan visited Colorado in 1994, and as a result he feels an affinity to Japan. He also said that as Chairman of the Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cyber Security Policy in U.S. Senate, he has a keen interest in America's relationship with Japan and would like to cooperate with Consul General Ito.
