Students from Tsuruoka, Yamagata paid a courtesy visit to Consul General of Japan (August 5, 2015)

A delegation from Tsuruoka, Yamagata paid a courtesy visit to Consul General Ito on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Yamagata is a sister state to Colorado. The 12-person delegation consisted of middle and high school students, Dewa Shonai International Forum staff, and elementary school teacher. Through home stays, the delegation interacted with local sister state associates, engaged in English studies and visited local schools.
Consul General Ito explained the duties and activities of the Consulate, and emphasized the importance of cultural and academic exchanges. In response, the delegation stated that in view of the 50th sister state anniversary next year, they hope to further expand grass-roots level exchanges between Yamagata and Colorado.
