Consul General and Mrs. Ito attended the Aki Matsuri in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Sunday, September 20, 2015.
The New Mexico Japanese American Citizens League (NMJACL) plays the center role in the event, which is in its 11th year, and is held as a way to introduce Japanese culture to both the local and non-local communities. Key attractions included traditional Japanese performing arts such as the Japanese drums and traditional dance performances, kendo demonstration, cosplay competition, and exhibition of the NMJACL’s activity. Many people attended making the event a great success.
