Consul General Ito received a courtesy visit from Director Makoto Yamaguchi of the Japan Powerlifting Association (JPA) on Monday, September 28, 2015. Director Yamaguchi is one of several directors of the JPA and captain of the Japanese team, and will also participate in the 2015 IPF World Masters Powerlifting Championship in Aurora, Colorado.
Director Yamaguchi mentioned to Consul General Ito that Japan has comparatively more contestants with approx. 2,500, and while the Japanese contestants in the Masters Championship are of high level, he still hopes to finish among the top ranks this year. In response, Consul General Ito offered his encouragement and said he has high expectations for the Japanese team's success.
