The Consulate-General of Japan in Denver and the Colorado Japanese Language Education Association (CJLEA) co-hosted the 29th Colorado/Wyoming Japanese Speech Contest at the Colorado Convention Center on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Many students from Colorado and Wyoming, ranging from elementary school through college, participated and showcased their achievements from their studies of Japanese language. Cadets from the US Air Force Academy who are studying Japanese also participated again this year.
Participants’ topics included how interesting and difficult it is to learn Japanese, as well as modern Japanese themes such as anime, Japanese music, and fish farming. The contest was high-level, making it a successful event.
