2016/1/29

Two lectures on Japanese relations were held by the University of Colorado Boulder Center for Asian Studies (CAS) at the CU Boulder campus on Friday, January 22 and Monday, January 25, 2016.
On the 22nd, Dr. Chika Watanabe from the University of Manchester presented about the aid activities of a Japanese NGO in Myanmar and on the 25th Professor Mariko Asano Tamanoi from the University of California Los Angeles presented about Japanese war orphans left in China. Over 50 students and researchers attended each lecture, both of which had lively Q&A sessions at the end.
Consul General Ito attended and sat in on both lectures, and said in his greeting that he hopes to promote a deeper understanding of Japan through opportunities like these lectures.
