“Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan”Delegation Visits New Mexico (April 15-16, 2016)

From Friday, April 15th through Saturday, April 16th, a delegation for the Japanese government project "Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan" visited New Mexico and participated in various events.
The project was started in 2014 with the purpose of increasing awareness in the United States about Japan's attractiveness and current healthy state through private-sector exchange.
The delegation consisted of 5 members: Delegation Leader Mr. Ken Shimanouchi (former Ambassador to Brazil and Spain) , Ms. Tokuro Miyake (Izumi School Kyogen Master), Ms. Eriko Tawa (UBS Securities, Ltd.), Ms. Misaki Tsuchiyama (Freelance content creator), and Ms. Yurika Kanai (Waseda University student).
After arriving in Albuquerque on the 15th, the delegation met with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce where Leader Shimanouchi lectured on Japan-U.S. relations and each delegation member gave a presentation introducing Japanese culture and comparing it to American culture based on their personal experiences. On the 16th, the delegation participated in the Santa Fe Japan Festival by conducting PR activities at their booth. In addition, Ms. Miyake leading a Kyogen workshop on stage with the audience. The delegation's attendance and participation was very well-received at the festival.
