Consul-General and Mrs. Ito attend the 2016 Amache Pilgrimage Memorial Ceremony (May 21, 2016)

On Saturday, May 21st, Consul-General and Mrs. Ito attended the 2016 Amache Pilgrimage Memorial Ceremony held at the Amache Camp Site located in southeastern Colorado where many Japanese-Americans were interned during the WWII. This year is the 40th memorial ceremony to be held. It is held every year in May to honor and remember the 120 individuals who died in the camp and the 31 enlisted soldiers who lost their lives on the battlefield in Europe. More than 100 persons from Colorado and other states attended the ceremony.
