TOPICS –Japanese Minister of the Environment visits Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming (July 16-19, 2016)

From Saturday through Tuesday, July 16-19th, Japanese Minister of the Environment Ms. Tamayo Marukawa visited Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. The Minister met with Ms. Linda Young, Acting Superintendent of Yellowstone National Park and exchanged opinions on the system and management of U.S. national parks. The Minister also toured the park facilities.
The opinion exchange covered a wide range of subjects including the fiscal health of U.S. national parks, balancing visitor safety and landscape preservation, measures for increase in visitors, and policies relating to private operation of visitor centers.
