Student delegation pays courtesy visit to Consul-General(August 4, 2016)

On Thursday, August 4th, Consul-General Ito received a courtesy visit from a delegation of 23 middle and high school students and their chaperones from Denver’s sister city of Takayama. The students visited Colorado to participate in sister city exchanges.
They asked various questions about what kinds of Japanese things American people are interested in and what are the differences between Japan and the U.S.. Consul-General Ito gave examples of traditional Japanese culture that many Americans find interesting, and explained about American car culture and developments that utilize large areas of land. The students also asked about the duties of a diplomat, to which the Consul-General replied by describing the work and everyday research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and foreign diplomatic offices.
