Consul General Ito Attends Utah Global Forum (October 24, 2016)

Utah Governor Gary Herbert hosted the Utah Global Forum, held on October 24th in Salt Lake City. Consul General Ito participated as a panelist along with Consuls General from Canada and Mexico.
Approximately 300 people from economic and business circles attended the Forum, held for the purpose of expanding Utah's foreign trade. Consul General Ito explained current economic policies of the Japanese government, namely “Abenomics”, and emphasized the strategic importance of TPP.
Also on October 25th, a diplomatic forum was held at Utah Valley University, which Consul General Ito also attended as a panelist. Together with the Consulate General of Korea and others, he highlighted and explained current conditions in the Asian area, Japan's response to its aging society, the importance of TPP, and other topics.
