On Monday, November 28th, Consul-General and Mrs. Ito attended the opening ceremony for the Sister Cities Decoration Exhibit held at the Governor’s Mansion. The Exhibit celebrates international cities with whom Colorado cities have a sister city relationship.
The Japanese city of Takayama in Gifu Prefecture was among the six cities represented. Takayama City has been conducting sister city exchanges with Denver for many years. Its decorations included a model of Takayama Festival Float, which is  UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, a large Sarubobo doll and paper cranes made by the people of Takayama. The event was festive and lively with many local citizens and sister city affiliates attending.
