A student delegation consisting of 23 students and 3 chaperones from Ibaraki University visited Colorado as part of the Kakehashi Project, a program started in order to deepen mutual understanding between Japan and United States. On Thursday, December 1st, the Consul-General received a courtesy visit from the students, who asked questions about the Japanese and American education systems and cultural exchanges. Consul-General Ito explained the importance of Japan-U.S. exchanges and the history of Japanese-Americans. We hope the youths’ grassroots level exchange will further deepen mutual understanding and broaden the base of friendly exchanges between Japan and the U.S..
