Consul-General and Mrs. Hirakoba attended the 72nd Annual Community Memorial Day Service for Japanese-American Veterans at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver on Monday, May 29th, 2017. This memorial service is held every year in May on Memorial Day in honor of Japanese-American Veterans who were members of the U. S. Army 442nd and other regiments during World War II. Approximately 250 Japanese-American veterans, their families, and members of related Japanese-American organizations attended the ceremony.
