Award of the Foreign Minister’s Commendations for FY2018

On July 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan announced the name of recipients of the Foreign Minister’s Commendations for FY2018. The following organization is awarded the Commendations from Colorado.
Japan-America Society of Southern Colorado
(Services: Promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and the U.S.A.)
Japan-America Society of Southern Colorado (JASSC) has made efforts on promotion of Japanese culture through various cultural events including hosting the Japanese Cultural Festival in Southern Colorado for over 20 years. JASSC has also contributed in promoting mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and United States by playing a central role in implementing exchange programs on sister city exchanges between Colorado-Springs and Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture.
The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas. The Commendations also aim to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public for the activities of the recipients. The Consulate-General of Japan in Denver extends its sincere congratulations to JASSC and expresses its deep respect for their contributions that have been made.
