Consul-General Takeuchi Attended the Matsuri (Japan Festival) in Santa Fe, New Mexico (May 11, 2019)

On Saturday, May 11th, Consul General Takeuchi attended the 15th Matsuri (Japan Festival) organized by Santa Fe JIN in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Giving guest remarks, Consul General Takeuchi delivered a message that the hope that strong relations and mutual understanding at grass root level will further strengthen in the future on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of sister city relations between Santa Fe and Tsuyama City in Japan. Special guests attending the festival also included Santa Fe Mayor Alan Webber, Santa Fe City Councilor Peter Ives, and Japanese Honorary Consul Davis Begay.
Matsuri festival highlights included traditional arts performances of Japanese taiko drums, Japanese classical dance, martial arts demonstrations, a tea ceremony demonstration, and the Japanese folk arts and food stalls. Approximately 3,000 people gathered to enjoy the Matsuri on Saturday.
