Consul-General Midori Takeuchi attended the 31st Annual SGI-USA and City of Denver Cherry Tree Planting Ceremony, along with nearly 100 participants gathered at Sloan’s Lake Park.

SGI-USA and the City of Denver have planted more than two thousands of cherry trees at city parks in the Denver area for the past 30 years. This year, 50 cherry trees were planted at Sloan’s Lake Park near the corner of 17th Street and Sheridan Avenue.

District 11 Denver City Councilwoman Stacie Gilmore and Scott Gilmore, Deputy Executive Director of the Parks and Recreation department for the City and County of Denver, joined the ceremony as well.
