Consul General visited East Middle School (Japanese Language School) )(January 13, 2016）

On Tuesday, January 13, 2016, Consul General Ito visited East Middle School in Aurora and met with Principal Biaze Houston and Japanese language teacher, Ms. Rie Seaver.
Principal Houston and Ms. Seaver said East Middle School only offers Japanese and French but they hope to put more strength into foreign languages by adding Spanish to the curriculum in the future. They believe it is very important for the students to use what they have learned when studying a foreign language and expressed a desire to improve Japanese language study through student and cultural exchanges.
Consul General Ito briefly introduced the Consulate’s cooperation efforts toward international exchanges in Aurora, and said he wishes to proactively support Japanese language education in the future through education promotion and the Colorado/Wyoming Japanese Speech Contest.
